Recent Penguin 2.0 update
Today I am posting some information on the recent Penguin 2.0 update.
Google Penguin 2.0 Update
Every website owners know how important is Google penguin & Panda updates. Google rolled out the latest penguin 2.0 update globally. SEO Moz, Search Metrics & Searchengineland has already released initial websites and the impact of the penguin 2.0 Update. This time the impact around 2.3% of English queries, a decrease in comparison to the first generation of webspam (3.1%). The most effected sites are Porn Sites, Game Sites, & Big Brands Like Dish.com & The Salvation Army etc.
The impact was much stronger in Germany than in the U.S., and SearchMetrics details some of the Penguin-hit websites in Germany in a separate blog post(German language).
Matt cuts, who is the Head of the Google webspam team announced another attack on link farms, Over-Optimization, “Black Hat” and keyword stuffing in recent video scheduled to release over the coming summer. The next Penguin update will be in Oct which will be more severe than the penguin 2.0.

Conclusion:
This was not the update SEO agencies were expecting. Matt Cutts, announced some weeks ago that a special SEO over optimization update will come. But this does not seem to be the best update. When we compare to penguin 1.0, Penguin 2.0 has not completely looked in to the webspam. In India still there is not much impact on the update. Soon will see the more updates for India. In addition, some small business sites (which are having thin content thin links) & were hit because they haven’t taken SEO serious enough. Google itself confirmed that the impact wouldn’t be as high as many thought – maybe this is just the calm before the storm and the big update is really coming in the future. We will see big update coming soon.
